De contemptu mundi (On Contempt for the World) is the most well-known work of Bernard of Cluny, made famous in translation by John Mason Neale. From Neale’s work are derived four hymns: Jerusalem the Golden. The four hymns are printed here as a handheld aid to prayer and meditation on our life with God in heaven.
